Bluestarhalo's Summer Reading List:

These are designed not to rot your brain, nor engage it too much. The summer means beaches, hot weather and getting a tan. Although I don't really do any of those, except the hot weather because well, this is HELL I live in.

Anyway- these are sure to get your juices moving. Brain and otherwise.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

by Stephen Chbosky

If you haven't read this book, you don't know what you're missing. Very Catcher in the Rye meets the modern age. Wonderful lead narrator. Not too serious and not too fluffy.

The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde

Hilarious book. If you were an english geek in school, you'll adore this story. It's very alternative universe. It's smart, funny and british. It might be a little too much for summer, but it's worth the effort.

Delta of Venus by Anais Nin

Ah. French sex. The talent of Nin is that not only does she pull you in with her prose and desires, but she caresses you as she reaches her passion. It's intellectual porn for the college set and ooh it's good.

Harry Potter and the Anything

by J.K. Rowling

Like a list of mine would be complete without our boy wizard. Look, it's summer time, right? You can read it while no one is looking. They even have "adult" versions of the books that feature non kiddy covers. It's fantasy, it's fun, it's good, dammit.

Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton

Vampires and werewolves, oh my. Actually, despite the subject matter, they're great little books- The Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series. Not too heavy, although there is some sex.(good sex too. ha) They're addicting, like popcorn or chocolate.

Alright.. enough suggestions for now.

I'm really tired today. Too many words. Both in front of me and out of me.

Snooze. Summer is also for snoozing.
